Questions parents ask
- Can my child read these stories independently?
- Many five to seven year olds can, with some help. If your child is still decoding, turn on phonics mode and pick their phase. The story then aims for most words to be decodable at that phase, instead of only keeping the sentences short.
- How do I know if the reading level is right?
- If your child is stopping on several words a page, the level is probably too high. Drop to an earlier phonics phase or read it together. An easy story that builds confidence does more good than a hard one that ends in frustration.
- How does the story get personalised?
- You enter your child's name, age group and a few interests, then pick a mood, a length and an illustration style. The story is written around those choices. You can also add custom characters from a photo or a written description, so a sibling, friend or pet can join in.
