Birthday stories
A story where your child is the hero on their birthday, with pictures you can share with family by link.
Put your child's name and the things they love into the story, then add a short note in the wizard, such as 'a surprise birthday picnic in the garden'. Younger children like bold pictures and simple rhythm. Older children get more plot and more jokes. Pick the length and age group to suit, and an illustration style from the ones offered for that age. Read it at breakfast, after the cake or at bedtime. Relatives who live far away can read it too, through a read-only share link.
With My Story Wish you choose your child's age group, a mood, a length and an illustration style, plus an optional phonics phase. Every scene gets its own illustration, and the story is ready in a few minutes. You can try a free story with no sign-up form, then subscribe for more each month.
Questions parents ask
- How far ahead should I make a birthday story?
- A day or two ahead is plenty, because a story takes a few minutes to make. Making it early lets you read it through first. A finished story can't be edited or regenerated, so if something isn't right you would need to create a new one, and it's better to find that out before the morning.
- Can relatives read the birthday story too?
- Yes. You can share a read-only link so grandparents and family elsewhere can enjoy the same story. Shared story pages are deliberately excluded from search engines and AI crawlers, because they are personalised to a named child.
- How does the story get personalised?
- You enter your child's name, age group and a few interests, then pick a mood, a length and an illustration style. The story is written around those choices. You can also add custom characters from a photo or a written description, so a sibling, friend or pet can join in.
