Christmas and festive stories
A cosy, illustrated Christmas story that fits your family, whether that means gentle, silly or full of wonder.
Pick the mood to match your family. Calm & Dreamy gives a twinkly bedtime tale, and Happy & Silly gives snowball chaos. The age group keeps the words right for your child, and the pictures help tired younger listeners follow along after a busy day. Make the story early in December and you can reread it all through the holidays, because little ones like hearing the same story again. A finished story can't be edited, so if plans change, make a new one.
With My Story Wish you choose your child's age group, a mood, a length and an illustration style, plus an optional phonics phase. Every scene gets its own illustration, and the story is ready in a few minutes. You can try a free story with no sign-up form, then subscribe for more each month.
Questions parents ask
- Can I keep Christmas stories non-religious?
- Yes. The story follows what you give it, which is your child's name and interests, a mood and the optional short note in the wizard. Write 'Father Christmas gets stuck in the snow' or 'a winter walk with Grandma' and it stays secular. If you would like the nativity, put that in the note.
- Can we make a new Christmas story every year?
- Yes. Stories stay saved in your library, so one made each December becomes a record of what your child was into that year, from their favourite animal to their best friend. Reading last year's story is a good way to start making this year's.
- How does the story get personalised?
- You enter your child's name, age group and a few interests, then pick a mood, a length and an illustration style. The story is written around those choices. You can also add custom characters from a photo or a written description, so a sibling, friend or pet can join in.
