Offered in the story wizard for

  • Early Reader (5-7)
  • Middle Grade (8+)

Colours stay muted: sage, dusty rose, straw yellow and slate blue. Scenes often fade into bare paper at the edges instead of filling the page, and in places the pencil drawing still shows. Faces are simple, never with oversized eyes.

With My Story Wish you choose your child's age group, a mood, a length and an illustration style, plus an optional phonics phase. Every scene gets its own illustration, and the story is ready in a few minutes. You can try a free story with no sign-up form, then subscribe for more each month.

Questions parents ask

How is Classic Storybook different from Ink & Watercolour?
Both are pen and watercolour. Classic Storybook uses finer, sketchier sepia lines, quieter colours and scenes that fade into cream paper at the edges. Ink & Watercolour has bolder black outlines, warmer colour and full painted pages. Classic Storybook is the quieter of the two.
Can I change the illustration style later?
You pick a style each time you create a story, so stories in your library can look quite different from each other. A finished story keeps its style and can't be re-illustrated. To see another style, create a new story and choose it there.
How does the story get personalised?
You enter your child's name, age group and a few interests, then pick a mood, a length and an illustration style. The story is written around those choices. You can also add custom characters from a photo or a written description, so a sibling, friend or pet can join in.
